Owen Sowerwine Celebration
After years of collaboration, we are thrilled that the 405-acre Owen Sowerwine property is now permanently protected by a conservation easement. Together with our partners, Flathead Land Trust, Flathead Audubon, and Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, we will celebrate this milestone event, a half-century in the making. Join us for the 8th annual Poker Paddle for Clean Water!
Bring your kayaks, SUPs, canoes or swimming ability on a short or long course to designated stops on the beautiful south end of Flathead Lake in Polson, MT, collecting playing cards along the way. Each player receives a commemorative gift.

Help us keep our favorite places clean by participating in the 2024 Flathead Waters Cleanup! Volunteer teams can register to pick up trash in and around any waterbody in the Flathead Watershed.

Giving Tuesday
This Giving Tuesday, we aim to raise $6,500 in celebration of 65 years of Flathead Lakers history and kickstart our new Scholarship Program for graduating Lake County Students.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Scholarship Program for Lake County graduating seniors pursuing higher education in Montana. As part of our Giving Tuesday campaign, $5,000 of our $6,500 goal will be directed towards the scholarship fund.

Summer Soirée
Join us for a Summer Soirée! Attendees will enjoy a private concert from Marshall Catch on Black Point overlooking Flathead Lake. Light appetizers and drinks will be served. Limited to 125 attendees. The purchase of a ticket for the Summer Soiree covers food, beverage, and entertainment costs for the evening. We welcome additional donations to the work of the Flathead Lakers, and will be making a special appeal at the event.
Owen Sowerwine summer kayak and walking tours
Join us on a tour of the Owen Sowerwine conservation property, to see this hidden gem right outside of Kalispell. The 400+acre property is in a braided area of the Flathead and Stillwater rivers, including islands, wetlands, and gravel bars. This intricate river system is an important piece of the puzzle in sustaining our clean water in the river and lake downstream. It is also a gem for birds, hosting over 168 species of birds, as well as grizzly bears and bull trout
