As Giving Tuesday approaches on December 3rd, we invite you to join us in raising $10,000 to protect Flathead Lake and its watershed. Your support on this global day of giving empowers the Flathead Lakers to continue critical work in preserving water quality, educating future stewards, and conserving vital lands.
Every dollar raised this Giving Tuesday directly supports our key programs:
Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention: With the recent detection of invasive mussels close to home, we need to be more vigilant than ever to keep these and other aquatic threats out of Flathead Lake. In 2025, we’ll also be heading to the Montana legislative session to advocate for continued AIS funding. Your support strengthens our efforts to protect the lake from these serious threats.
Education: With your help, we’re continuing our Becoming Watershed Citizens program, which gave 270 local students hands-on experiences with Flathead Lake’s ecosystem this past year. We’re also expanding our scholarship fund to support even more future environmental leaders, like Mollie Sydnor, our first scholarship recipient.
Watershed Health: Support clean water and healthy shorelines through initiatives like native buffer gardens, septic management, and nonpoint pollution reduction, all aimed at protecting the lake and surrounding areas.
Conservation – Critical Lands: Through key partnerships, we’ve helped conserve nearly 9,000 acres along the Flathead River and the north shore of Flathead Lake. In 2024 alone, over 1,200 acres of wetlands and riparian forests were protected. Your gift helps sustain these efforts to preserve crucial habitats and recreational spaces.
