The annual Flathead Waters Cleanup is a volunteer event to clean up trash in and around the waterbodies of the Flathead Watershed.
Trash can cause harm to aquatic ecosystems and can prevent us from enjoying our favorite places. Our goal is to keep our favorite natural areas clean - for us and for the fish!
Volunteers can sign up and list “Flathead Lakers” as your team! The Flathead Lakers will have bags and gloves at our office you may pick up or take your own. We will be cleaning up the parks near our office in Polson. However, you may choose any location in the watershed to clean up. Check this map for potential cleaning locations, or list your own when you sign up (go to Step 4 in the event info page).
Join partners between 4 and 5 PM at Sacred Waters Brewery for food, drinks, live music, and chances to win amazing prizes (submit pictures of weird and funny items). Take the trash you collected to the back of the building to be weighed and hang around for the rest of the evening! If picking at your own location, please submit a post-cleaning report to let us know how much trash you picked.
The Flathead Lakers will have bags and gloves at our office which you may pick up during office hours Monday through Thursday, 10 AM to 2 PM, or take your own.
