Krause Creek Restoration - Volunteer Event

unnamed.png

Flathead Conservation District is working on a project to restore Krause Creek using a low-tech restoration approach. We'll plant native trees and shrubs, and build structures to harness the power of the stream itself to reshape the channel, repair incision, and reconnect it to the floodplain. Come join us to revitalize this local stream!

Participants in the project don’t need to have technical expertise in stream restoration to help, just enthusiasm and a strong back. For this reason, Flathead Conservation District is inviting local landowners and community members interested in stream restoration to join this project. Volunteers can sign up for one or more 3-hour session to lend a hand, weekdays November 3rd – 12th.

Participants will be an integral part of the restoration team providing valuable support to this community-led project. If you own property or work in the restoration field, this is also a great opportunity to learn practical solutions for stream restoration. Participation is limited each day, so sign up now for your preferred volunteer time slot.
