Watershed Field Trips

This May and June, the Flathead Lakers and Flathead Lake Biological Station had the privilege of hosting more than 275 enthusiastic 3rd and 5th grade students from Bigfork, Polson, and Ronan for immersive field trips to the Biological Station.

Guided by staff, board members and dedicated volunteers, these young learners engaged in nature walks, explored the mesmerizing world of zooplankton and phytoplankton under microscopes, created stunning watercolor paintings of the watershed, and gained valuable insights into becoming responsible watershed citizens while learning about nonpoint source pollution.

We extend our gratitude to the dedicated teachers, staff, and volunteers who made these enriching experiences possible, and we are proud of the students' enthusiasm for learning and environmental stewardship.
