We need your support for the Somers Beach State Park project on the North Shore by April 1st!

Please join us in supporting a new public access site and state park on the North Shore of Flathead Lake – letters of support are needed by Wednesday, April 1st!

The Flathead Lakers are working with the Flathead Land Trust; Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks; and other Flathead River to Lake Initiative partners to acquire a property on the North Shore, near Somers, to create a state park and provide much needed recreational opportunities.

Please help us enhance quality recreation on the North Shore and conserve this property’s wetlands and scenic beauty by writing a letter of support to create this new public access site and future park.

Here is a sample letter you can use.

Next, we await the approval of the Montana State Parks and Recreation Board to move ahead with the due diligence to facilitate this property becoming a future state park. If the Board approves due diligence, we will work with our partners to secure funding for the project.

Please send us your letter of support by Wednesday, April 1st. Email to , fax to (406) 883-1357, or mail to Flathead Lakers/ Attn.: North Shore Project, P.O. Box 70, Polson, MT 59860. We will send all letters with a package to the Montana State Parks and Recreation Board. For questions, contact Constanza von der Pahlen, Critical Lands Program Director, at .
