Thank you to all of you who made contributions in 2017 to help protect Flathead Lake and the clean water that flows through it. Your support:
♦ helped spread the message and not the mussel. The Flathead Lakers worked hard on new protection, legislation, plans, and funding to prevent spread of invasive mussels. Check out our Thwarting Aquatic Invaders page for more information.
♦ informed the public and our members on the very real threat of oil transportation through the Middle Fork Flathead River corridor with our video Oil and Water Don’t Mix.
♦ successfully advocated for Most Endangered River designation for the Middle Fork Flathead River by American Rivers.
♦ brought 400 local students to the Flathead Lake Biological Station for our Becoming Watershed Citizens program field trips, now in its 20th year.
♦ continued our successful Science on Tap-Flathead program brought to you by the Flathead Lakers, the Flathead Lake Biological Station and the Flathead Lake Brewing Company. Join us in 2018!
♦ planted over 3,000 trees and shrubs to restore riparian areas on 5 projects along the Flathead River, Ashley Creek, Blaine Creek, and the North Shore. Check out our Critical Lands Program for more information.
♦ helped enrich our Lakers volunteer program, which is essential to our mission of working for clean water, healthy ecosystems and lasting quality of life in the Flathead watershed. Thank you to our wonderful, dedicated volunteers! Consider becoming a Lakers volunteer today!
These are just a few of the important programs and accomplishments that your contributions supported this year. We thank you.
