The Lake County Commissioners approved repeal of the county Density Map & Regulations on April 24 (link to resolution). The Planning Board previously voted to recommend that the Commission not repeal these regulations.
The Planning Board made its final changes to the Draft 2018 Growth Policy on April 18 and voted to recommend to the County Commissioners that they approve the revised draft. The final draft that includes all changes is not yet available for review. A public hearing before the Commission has not yet been scheduled.
Thank you to everyone who contacted the Planning Board and Commissioners to support retaining the Density Regulations. We are very disappointed that the Density Regulations & Map will no longer be a regulatory planning tool for directing growth and development to protect water quality and other natural resources and amenities.
